Protecting people and infrastructure against extreme loads

The Infrastructure Protection Research Group is home to the Virginia Tech Shock Tube Testing Facility, a new extreme load testing facility arriving March 2019 for simulating explosive blast loads on structures. Led by Dr. Eric Jacques, Assistant Professor in CEE Structural Engineering and Materials, the research group is committed to safeguarding the physical security and socio-economic well-being of the public against improvised terrorist bombings and accidental industrial explosions. Learn more »
